Women's Healing Circles

Incredible India's Dark Side

Nileem Misra, helps to empower women in the villages of IndiaExtreme poverty in desperate conditions is what is to be seen today throughout India. A Dr. wrote an article titled "Slow Poisoning of India" wherein he describes the conditions of the Indian agricultural system as it has been affected by chemicals over the last 40 years. It is slowly becoming a desert in parts and other areas where the land is with water you find disease of all kinds growing on the crops. The tragedy this has created is only the beginning of what is felt, as an after-shock, by the women. (See "RAYS of HOPE" my 9min. documentary)

Today HIV cases have grown tremendously as study's are revealing, and they are fueled by the rise in the domestic tourist sex trade in India. According to Human Rights Watch, there are approximately 15 million prostitutes in India and the cause is poverty. But poverty is only one of the reasons. The helplessness of women forces them to sell their bodies. Many girls from villages are trapped for the trade in the pretext of love and elope from home only to find themselves sold in the city to pimps who take money from the women as commission. The other causes of prostitution include ill treatment by parents, bad company, family prostitutes, social customs, inability to arrange marriage, lack of sex education, media, prior incest and rape, early marriage and desertion, lack of recreational facilities, ignorance, and acceptance of prostitution. Economic causes include poverty and economic distress. Psychological causes include desire for physical pleasure, greed, and dejection.

In the village wives and daughters are being sold by their husbands and fathers for as little $100 in order to pay off debt created from barren lands. It is an international crisis.

A young woman by the name of Nileema Misra is leading a movement bringing about the empowerment of the down-trodden women in India's rural and slum areas. So far the number of women who have received benefit has reached in excess of 15,000. From an early age, Nileema wanted only to help the women and children whom she could see suffered so much in the villages surrounding her native place. She informed her parents that she did not want to get married as she wanted to devote her life to the upliftment of women and children who had little chance of saving themselves from a life of suffering, ignorance and poverty. Anne Godfrey teaches women to stitch and become empowered in the villages of India
Myself and several other women have joined Nileema in her mission to help provide work and empower the women to lift up out of utter poverty and helplessness. Headed by Australian clothing designer, Anne Godfrey, Rose Circles Mission train the women to stitch, as well to develop and sell their products in the domestic and international markets. Anne has spent many years in India. A video of the concept can be seen here.

People living in the west have their own difficult struggles today, with the decline in the global economy. However, I feel now is the time for us to find a way to bridge worlds, bridge women from third world villages to women in urban coves and suburb culdasacks. How can we do this? Women Circles of Healing!

How to start a Woman's Healing Circle?

Women's Circles of Healing
1. Invite your women friends of all ages, to come to your place one night each week, Thursdays are good for this.

2. Each woman present receives a healing rose(Cost $1.50 ea.) and wears it. This immediately activates light energy and neutralizes any negative energy in the circle.

3. Sit in a circle with a candle burning in the middle and incense if you like it to create an atmosphere of light and peace. Join hands right hand down and left hand up.

4. Meditate together for 15 minutes if everyone is comfortable with that. Once this period of meditation is over, someone may be nominated to lead. The leader then suggests that each of the participants could call out the name of a family member or friend who may be in need of light or love or healing energies. It is always advisable never to ask for a specific result for anyone as this can interfere with karma and also create karma for the person asking for a specific result. It is always best for one to say first "let this be only according to divine will". We can hold the intention that loving energies are flowing for a particular person. This is not interfering with any karma and then this energy may be sent also to animals who are suffering, to a whole country, to the women's meditation cirlce
whole planet and so on. When women come together like this it creates a bond overriding differences in age, background or race. There is a universal sisterhood, which comes about when women unite to consciously activate the heart energy within and when joined together with the love from others it is an invincible powerful force for good.

5. Sing songs ... any songs which uplift the soul. Each woman can bring a musical instrument, and join in.

6. Forgiveness is a powerful tool for releasing love which is withheld. A time for silent forgiveness of oneself and others can be incorporated in each healing circle. If anyone has a emotional release, all of the other women can support the healing process with love and compassion

7. A time frame can be given for each healing circle. Some may go longer, others may take only an hour or half an hour but whatever time is given is vital for contributing to the healing of the whole planet. When the session is finished, a short prayer can be offered to the atmosphere with the intention of love going to every corner of the planet. Everyone can visualize white light going out to every nook and cranny. Then thanks for all who made the evening possible may be given.

The rose which was given as a gift to each of the women present is a gift of love. Each woman present who receives the rose is helping another woman who has made that rose. The woman who organizes the healing circle and has given the roses has contributed not only to each of the women present, but also to the women who have made the roses, and she has also enabled the women who are promoting the concept of the Healing Rose Circles to continue and expand the work ... the motto of which could well be .... 'Women helping women.' In this way the circles will grow until they are interconnected across the face of the earth. Can you imagine the effect of this?
