I started off driving from my family town on the east coast of Florida, along the gulf-of-mexico, into Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, final destination California.
I was in India April 2010 when I decided that I needed an adventure to set me on a personal journey of self-love and self-healing. I always wanted to drive cross-country and photograph the magnificent American landscape. So, in May of 2010 I returned to America, and by July 2010 I began a tremendous journey 'inward'.
It was compelling. I was completely guided by a higher consciousness, which i felt encouraged me to take the journey alone.
Little moments I cannot elaborate upon as it would not make sense. Though it may be safe to say a pattern developed, strengthening my faith, that each instant everything would be provided.
During this time was the gulf oil spill, so morale was low in areas along the west coast of Florida and Louisiana. I felt however, 'tuned in' to the strong conscious collective, which was sending light energy to the damaged area. I drove beside the gulf, over the great American Bayou, singing to incredibly powerful mantras feeling as though I was myself, a lighthouse of positivity being injected into the atmosphere. At least I have to believe, surely, as it is difficult to gage just how much an individual's thought contributions actually benefit the whole. Either way, I felt light, positive, and full of love.
After the gulf area the next big stop was in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. What amazing land. The energy permeated my aura field.
I felt immediately attracted to this place and am considering setting up a base there in the future. By base I mean joining an alternative farming community. Of course I practice agnihotra sunrise/sunset fire daily, which is a great addition to any community, especially farming. So, the ideal would be to join a Homa Farming Community, which would put to use these basic principles from the Ancient Science of Ayurveda.
After New Mexico I drove through Arizona and into San Diego.
San Diego was a world wind tour. I met with Patricia Norton, a fellow "Agnihotri" (person who practices Agnihotra sunrise/sunset fire) and Sound Healer. Together we taught Agnihotra to a group from the Oneness Healing Network.
We spent time with Makeda of the World Cultural Beat Center of San Diego. Makeda a radio celebrity known for her supportive work with African & Caribbean Dance/Music Arts, also brought Patricia and I to the World Beat's cultural music and arts center in Mexico. We went below the center to activate a vortex with a very humble Shaman using fire and Rudra Mantra. We conducted a fire/Rudra mantra in Balboa Park, located in downtown San Diego, as well. (* the rudra mantra is 2.5 hour process where extensive mantra chanting is involved).
Everything fell into place so perfectly, none of it was pre-planned. It proves that if we surrender to the Divine/moment/truth, and then try to follow our intuition, we are certain to have amazing spiritual adventures.
After San Diego fellow Agnihotris' and I got together to promote at Bhakti Fest in Joshua Tree, California. Our booth Powerful Healing Tools, consisted of Shiva Lingams, organic yoga clothes, rudraksha malas and Rose Circles Products.
The experience at the 4-day Yoga and Kirtan alternative media event was especially unifying. It was very peaceful. There was a solid group of conscious, wide-open hearts, singing 24 hours a day with complete devotion. Awareness was high and people simply floated with positive intention and support. I found this time to be very blissful and motivating.
After Bhakti Fest a good friend, Ryan Couto from Baltimore Homa Community and I got magically picked up by Garth Bowles of God's Way Love (see 10min. documentary HERE), permaculture garden in Pioneertown, California.
Once again, it was truly one of those moments where you quickly realized it is all Divine Timing. Garth has developed an amazing 600 acre sustainable permaculture garden, where spiritual seekers, regular folks, and friends have been venturing for over 30 years. Take a look at the websites Gods Way Love or Boulder Gardens for more information.
The final days in California were quiet and relaxing. I hung out with and got to know my new love "Sierra", a small chiwawa mixed pup, Ryan and I found at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas. I even managed to enjoy a great after party with some good friends in the Hollywood Hills before setting back to NYC.
The return though only 3 days, was an awe-inspiring journey filled with many creative ideas to support the work I do internationally. It gave me time to map out what was needed and to connect with those who would come on board for the next exciting phase of international action. :)
