Return to India

Mary Lee Weir with friends and Mother in Tapovan, IndiaAfter spending 9 months in 2003-2004 traveling from region to region experiencing the powerful healing effects of Agnihotra, I returned to the United States.

The transformation had begun.

The exposure to such incredible circumstances, both positive and negative completely changed my outlook. I was thrown into a state of extreme bewilderment by all the happenings on our Planet. I no longer felt apart of the day-to-day and my goals started to change. Still I made an attempt to re-settle into life in America, which lasted for about 11 months, when in June of 2005 I returned to India.

I was not completely free from my addictions because while in America I commenced smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol, all of which stifled any kind of spiritual development, or discipline I needed to remain totally sober.

The summoning from my spiritual teacher Shree Vasant had me on a plane to India for six months, where I stayed in Rural Maharasthra, at Tapovan Homa Therapy Center. Though I was there to continue the healing process, I was thrust into a most amazing and eye-opening development of women's upliftment. Now known as Rose Circles Mission, headed by Anne Godfrey Australian Clothing Designer & Nileema Misra, founder of Bhagini Nivedita Gramin Vigyan Niketan Trust.

Anne and Nileema have joined forces to develop sustainable incomes for the village women, mainly in Jalgoan and Dhule Districts of Maharasthra.

It is through the documentation of their work that I came to realize; being in the service of others is the most rewarding way to discover one's inner light and also to heal one's broken spirit.

The situation in India has reached unbelievable levels. In 2009 approximately 10% of the population is traded into sex channels. Farmers are committing suicide en mass. This cycle is a devastating cycle and why the Rose Circles Mission is so radically important. If the women can help to bring an income into their family homes then hope is reignited.
